Colours of London Inspiration

Mylands have  been manufacturing quality interior and exterior paints and polishes since 1884. This family owned company wanted to launch their range of paints to into the retail sector.

Myland brand designTheir superior range of paints and varnishes needed a truly authentic identity. ‘Colours of London’ evolved and was the result of working closely with our client, not only the design – but the naming of the range and paint colours too.

Each colour is unique, and inspiration came from the timeless landmarks of London, such as the polished front doors of Pimlico, the stone facades of Grosvenor Square and the rich scenery of Soho.

We suggested capturing the rich visual history of the London landscape with a beautiful illustration that would become the heart of their brand and reflect their heritage. It was carefully structured and hand drawn with minute attention to detail – we remember the unique architecture of each building! Reproduction of the illustration was designed to give an overall etched/engraved feel wherever it appeared,

The new brand for Colours of London then successfully rolled out across their product range,  marketing communications, transactional website and vehicle livery.
